When working with laser systems of class 3R and higher, severe damage to the human eye can occur. The human eye can be permanently damaged by direct or indirect laser irradiation. Injuries to the retina mostly occur in the range of 400-1400nm, while defects on the cornea or lens occur in the UV range (190-400nm).
